about the Studio

We went for the Canon route and use the following cameras for our shoots:
• Canon 5D mk IV
• Canon 7D
• Canon 70D

These are also all from the excellent Canon range:
• Canon EF 24mm 1.4L ii
• Canon EF 35mm 1.2L ii
• Canon EF 50mm 1.2L
• Canon EF 85mm 1.4L
• Canon EF 100mm 2.8L
and various other L-series lenses.

The beauty of studio photography is that we can control the environment. To this end, we have white, blue and green screens, a multitude of LED and filament lights, tripods, anti-matting make-up and everything else needed to get those perfect shots.

We use the industry-standard Adobe suite to process our photos to ensure we give you the best shots possible. Of course, if you’d like all the original shots as well, they’re yours!

Our Prices

Our photography rates include the hire of all equipment and a technician working with you throughout your session. All rates are per hour.

Meet the Team

Phin Hall

Phin set up HMS in 1994, focusing on tuition, composition and recording. He heads up the tuition side of the studio, and is often to be found on the live side of the glass and gigging with local bands.

David Hall

David joined HMS following completion of his BTEC in media. He has worked in video and photography since 2013 and can often be found wandering the streets with his camera or staring at Lightroom.
