We offer photography services for all musical situations, from pub gigs to promo shots, from festivals to studio sessions, and everything in between.

about the Studio

This is the most common type of shoot. All the band photos on our website and our flickr are taken off site (or on location), whether at pubs and clubs or at festivals, parties and anywhere else live music might take place.

For those after publicity shots, head shots and that sort of thing, or would like us to take photos of their sessions in studio, we have all the necessary lighting and backdrops (including greenscreen). Again all the studio shots on our website and our flickr were taken by us.

We decided to go with a single format for lenses and cameras, and opted to go the Canon route. Our arsenal includes:

We use the industry-standard Adobe suite to process our photos to ensure we give you the best shots possible. Of course, if you’d like all the original shots as well, they’re yours!

Our Prices

Our photography rates including the hire of all equipment and having a technician working with you throughout your session. The day rate is for 12-hours. The price for photography on location includes travel time, but not expenses. Our editing rates can be found here

Meet the Team

Phin Hall

Phin set up HMS in 1994, focusing on tuition, composition and recording. He heads up the tuition side of the studio, and is often to be found on the live side of the glass and gigging with local bands.

David Hall

David joined HMS following completion of his BTEC in media. He has worked as a sound and video engineer since 2013. He heads up the recording and filming side of the studio, and runs the desk for most sessions.
